The Sports & Social Challenge

This multi- activity day combines several unique team Zones into to a great day out.

The goal will be achieved through cooperation, strategy, using wits and clear communication. Your group is divided into teams and different zones all must try to complete the objectives at each zone.

• Location: Carton House, Maynooth, Co. Kildare
• Minimum of 16 Participants.
• Duration: 2 hours Afternoon/Morning
• 3 sessions will be Ireland Xtreme activities.
• 3 sessions will be 40 mins long.
• This offer is only available until the end of March 2009.

Activity Descriptions:

Bridge Building: The Team must sub-divide into Foot Bridge Builders, Transporters & Pulley System Operators.

The Objective is to Transport Materials from one side of the river to the other, without getting the Materials or Participants wet.

Participants must use the equipment provided to construct a Foot Bridge to get each other to the far side of the river. They must also construct a Pulley System using trees, cable & rollers, to operate a Transport System to transport the Materials to the far side of the river. Once all the Materials are on the far side, they will be used to construct a Mega Structure.

A lot of planning is required to complete this activity in time; quick thinking and fast action are required to get the job done!

This activity can be done as a stand alone activity or Two Teams can complete against each other head-to-head.

Zone 2:

Snakes out of Ireland: This challenge will test your teams balance, their group coordination and their communication skills.

To begin, the group will be brought down to our snake pit.... This will contain over 50 snakes!!! Each member of the group must take it in turn to face the snakes. They will be strapped into the hanging bed, which hangs only 2 foot above the snakes. Once strapped in, their job it to reach down and try to collect as many snakes as they can. They must then try to swing out towards the edge of the snake pit and deposit the snakes into the snake charmers basket.

The team with the most snakes in the basket, at the end of their allocated time, is the declared the winner. This activity provides great entertainment and ensures every group will have great fun.

Cuchulainn's walk: Travel back in time, to the days of Cuchulainn, and enter our enchanted wood if you dare! Two Teams will be met with a series of head-to-head obstacles and tasks to complete before reaching the Tree of Life.

Both Teams start the challenge by attaching themselves to separate ropes. Once attached participants are locked into the challenge and can only unlock by reaching the finish point.

Along the way they will meet such obstacles as the Peg Keg, Yellow Fever, Letters of leer & Ropy Pole. All of these must be completed while balancing on Cuchulainn's Walk.
